Ellie Hoffman
Adjunct Faculty
With over 20 years teaching experience, by far my most passionate teaching is in the community college environment. As a proud "product" of California Community Colleges, I owe my educational and career successes to the access to education I received through multiple community colleges. As a returning student (many times), I relate to and deeply honor the varied paths of Chabot students. Over time, I earned a Master's in literature and a Master's in Education with a focus on educational technologies (Instructional Design). My specialty is online and hybrid teaching and learning. I thrive on my students thriving in the challenging and rewarding virtual world. I have taught English at Chabot College for 20 years in the PACE program and in the Language Arts Department. I have led faculty research groups through investigation of online successes and challenges of our Chabot students. I have also taught at other community colleges, Samuel Merritt University, and Holy Names University.
